A day in the life (of a developer) RSS 2.0

I was just reading some of the threads over on the UT and ran across one where someone was looking for a drop-down calendar control. Someone suggested they look at the one that I've got in the downloads section on my site. Unfortunately, the version I've had up forever doesn't actually have a "drop down" version of the control. I've had an updated version for a long time now, but I've never gotten around to posting it (until now). This thread kicked me in the butt a little to update this on the site.

Here's a screenshot of the updated control:

Hopefully you find it useful.

That's a nice calendar, however, when I tried it I discovered the following issues:

1) Clicking on the dropdown button activates the calendar. Clicking anywhere after that does not get rid of it as I would expect. I have to click the dropdown button again.

2) I can't use the arrow keys in the dates portion of the calendar. Don't forget about those keyboard only users.

Now for some suggestions:

1) Clicking on the MonthYear title at the top of the calendar shows a list of 6 months. How about replacing it with a dropdown list instead and show more months and have the ability to scroll it vertically.

2) Bold the dates that have "Tooltips" associated with them.

1. I'm not sure when that got broken, I thought I had that working at some point. If I get a chance I'll try looking at it again.

2. It does support keyboard shortcuts. D = current date, - = previous date, + = next date. The down arrow was taken to drop down the calendar.

Suggestions:

1. I like the look of the menus - I've seen calendars with the combo and I just don't like them as much.

2. Not a bad idea. I didn't really need the tool tips functionality, so that was never really fleshed out.

I meant to say that I cannot use the arrow keys (up, down, left and right) to move the "cursor" over a specific day, i.e. I can click on any day, but how do you do this with the keyboard?
